Jeff Apps Director

Los Angeles native Jeff Apps started his career in a place where most people should start their film careers - as a production assistant – and more specifically – a production assistant on the set of an MC Hammer video. Seriously.

He then spent the next several years navigating his way through the commercial and music video realm working in practically every aspect of filmmaking until he was finally able to talk someone into letting him direct a spot – a spot that aired nationally during the Wide World of Sports.

Then through the art of beg, borrowing and (alleged) petty theft he was able to put some money and influence together and thus Modern Industry was born. As owner and principle director he was able to create the model he always wanted – a production company that focuses strictly on creativity, not overhead.

Jeff has since gone on to direct dozens of commercials and hours of content under the banner of Modern Industry. Along with his team Jeff has created projects for clients such as XBOX, Microsoft, EA Games, UBISoft, K-SWISS, Edison, Intuit, PG&E and Red Bull – just to name a few.

From warm and fuzzy to dark and edgy, and every degree in between, Jeff loves to apply both his artistic and technical know-how as well as attention to detail to any visual challenge, no matter how big or how small.
